{"id":85,"date":"2004-06-23T00:35:25","date_gmt":"2004-06-22T14:35:25","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/lostbiro.com\/blog\/?p=85"},"modified":"2005-09-06T00:36:03","modified_gmt":"2005-09-05T14:36:03","slug":"gmail-account","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/lostbiro.com\/blog\/?p=85","title":{"rendered":"Gmail Account!"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Well I&#8217;m doing a happy dance tonight &#8211; I&#8217;m now the proud user of a gmail account &#8211; thanks to Mick of <a href=\"http:\/\/www.blight.com\/%7Emick\/Weblog\/toblogornottoblog.html\">ToBlogOrNotToBlog<\/a> &#8211; a fellow Canberra blogger &#8211; who had a few on offer for the asking. <\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/images.ientrymail.com\/webpronews\/gmail_logo.gif\"\/><\/p>\n<p>I had my suspicions that the service was really a hoax as it was launched on April fools Day (1st april!) But I was wrong &#8211; The service offers one gigabyte of storage space so you can use it as an email archive. Of course there is a price &#8211; Google gets to run an ad-bot over the emails to provide discrete targeted ads &#8211; which are pretty unobtrusive.
