{"id":644,"date":"2007-03-19T05:00:17","date_gmt":"2007-03-18T19:00:17","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/lostbiro.com\/blog\/?p=644"},"modified":"2007-03-19T00:50:51","modified_gmt":"2007-03-18T14:50:51","slug":"tunes-from-full-circle","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/lostbiro.com\/blog\/?p=644","title":{"rendered":"Tunes from Full Circle"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Well, I promised some audio from St Patrick&#8217;s Day &#8211; and some audio of the newly repaired violin, so it seems a good idea to combine the two \ud83d\ude42<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" alt=\"Full Circle at Filthy McFadden's\" id=\"image641\" src=\"http:\/\/lostbiro.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2007\/03\/fcfty070317d.jpg\" \/><\/p>\n<p>The first tune is <strong><a title=\"Ashokan Farewell\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"http:\/\/lostbiro.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2007\/03\/Ashokan.mp3\">Ashokan Farewell<\/a><\/strong>, written in 1986 by Jay Ungger, about the town of Ashoka &#8211; and farewell to the town as it disappeared beneath the artificial lake created by a dam &#8211; in much the same way that part of old Canberra was submerged to make way for the artificial lake. So I guess that makes Canberra and Ashoka sister cities. It&#8217;s a lovely tune. <strong><em>[NB: It was recorded at a high level &#8211; so you may wish to turn down the volume on your computer first]<\/em><\/strong> \ud83d\ude09<\/p>\n<p>The second tune is a kind of &#8216;wall-of-death&#8217; version of a reel called <strong><a title=\"Tongadale\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"http:\/\/lostbiro.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2007\/03\/Tongadale.mp3\">Tongadale<\/a><\/strong><strong> <\/strong>(not to be confused with a small Pacific Islands nation).
