{"id":371,"date":"2006-12-09T20:49:09","date_gmt":"2006-12-09T10:49:09","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/lostbiro.com\/blog\/?p=371"},"modified":"2006-12-09T20:55:23","modified_gmt":"2006-12-09T10:55:23","slug":"mothers-of-intention-band","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/lostbiro.com\/blog\/?p=371","title":{"rendered":"Mothers of Intention band"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The <a title=\"Mothers of Intention\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"http:\/\/mothersofintention.com.au\/aboutus.html\">Mothers of Intention<\/a> came to Canberra last night along with wonderful Blue Mountains singer\/songwriter <a title=\"Anne Ridgeway\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"http:\/\/www.anneridgway.com\/\">Anne Ridgeway<\/a>, to sing at the <a title=\"Merry Muse Folk Club\" href=\"http:\/\/www.merrymuse.com.au\/\">Merry Muse Folk Club<\/a>. It was a great night and the harmonies were amazing!<\/p>\n<p><a title=\"Anne Ridgeway\" href=\"http:\/\/www.anneridgway.com\/\">Anne Ridgway<\/a> has a rich mellifluous voice that complements her 12-string guitar, and the harmonies added by Rosie McDonald and Penny Rankin-Smith from Mothers of Intention contributed further depth and range. And Tony Pyrzakowski&#8217;s deft fiddle playing gave another dimension to the music. The crowd may not have been large, but it was very appreciative &#8211; calling the Mothers back for more at the end of the night. If you missed it then you missed one of the folk music highlights for this year.<\/p>\n<p>The Mothers of Intention gave richly of their talents, and Lainey Balsdon&#8217;s recorder blends well with Tony&#8217;s fiddle and and the power of Rosie&#8217;s guitar.<\/p>\n<p>And with energy to spare, they all went down to the Gorman House Markets to once again give freely of their music, and I was privileged to be asked to step in with Tony on the fiddle for our own dueling fiddles moment, as well as a lyrical Ashokan Farewell with the whole band.
